Cake, strawberries, and cream -- there's no better classic dessert than this; simply breathtakingly delicious!
1 package vanilla cake mix
20 strawberries; stems removed and halved
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup confectioners sugar
Follow the package instructions to make a vanilla cake.
While the cake cools, combine strawberries and granulated sugar in a bowl and let the mixture sit in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
When the cake and strawberry mixture is ready, combine heavy cream and confectioners sugar; whip until the cream forms stiff peaks. (Use either a handheld or stand mixer to do this).
(Optional) Transfer cream to a piping bag fitted with a large tip.
In a cup, start with a layer of cake, then, top with a layer of whipped cream, followed by a few strawberries; repeat this process until the cup is full. Repeat for 3 other cups or until all the ingredients have been used up. Serve immediately.
