Indulge on this decadent dessert with a rich, creamy milk chocolate filling, coated by a sweet white chocolate exterior. This is a true delight for chocolate lovers.
12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 oz. white chocolate chips
2 oz. milk or dark chocolate; shaved
In a saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a simmer, scraping the sides and bottom constantly.
In a medium bowl, combine the heated cream, semisweet chocolate, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and all of the chocolate has completely melted.
Place the chocolate into the refrigerator for 2 hours so that it solidifies but does not harden.
Line two plates or baking sheets that fits in your freezer with parchment paper.
Using a melon scooper, scoop even balls of chocolate from the solidified mixture and place onto one of the plates or baking sheets. If you do not have a melon scooper, you can also use a spoon, although it may be less consistent in size.
Using the palm of your hands (wear gloves if preferred), roll out the chocolate until they become spherical balls. Then, place them back onto the plate or baking sheet.
Place the plate or baking sheet into the fast freeze section of your freezer for 5 minutes.
In a microwave safe bowl, microwave the white chocolate with a tad bit of oil for 90 seconds, taking the bowl out every 30 seconds to stir. At the end of the 90 seconds, the white chocolate should be completely melted into a fast moving liquid.
Wait for about 30 minutes, or until the white chocolate has cooled to room temperature, or place the white chocolate into the fast freeze section for about 3 minutes. If you skip this step, the white chocolate will melt the chocolate balls.
Take a toothpick and poke it into the middle of your chocolate balls.
Drizzle white chocolate to cover the entirety of the balls, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
Gently place the coated chocolate balls onto the plate or baking sheet, and twist the toothpick to remove it.
Once all the chocolate balls have been coated, take another toothpick and gently cover the holes that were created from the toothpicks with white chocolate.
Top the chocolate balls with the shaved milk or dark chocolate as garnish.
Place into refrigerator until the white chocolate completely solidifies.
